FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do your products cost?

Our products range in price depending on what product you would like to order. There are many factors to think about when talking about price which include size, material, finishing technique, design time, shipping and how long it will take to carve. Each design we create is unique and custom made. We don’t bite, so please message us with what you would like to order and we would be more than happy to send you a quote!

What material do you use?

Our cribbage boards are made from white maple because it simply carves and finishes the best. It is a light coloured, dense and durable wood that will stand the test of time. It also stains the best to maintain the actual colour of stain chosen.

Our DIY cutouts can be cut from MDF or Baltic Birch plywood depending on your needs. MDF provides a better painted finish whereas the baltic birch plywood can be stained. Both have pros and cons depending on what kind of project you are creating and sometimes they can be used together to help create your vision!

Our outdoor signs are made with either Western Red Cedar or White Oak. Both have superior anti-weathering and insect resistant properties that are ideal for outdoor use. Cedar is a softer wood than White Oak and depending on the level of detail in your design, we may suggest one over the other.

How long will my sign last?

Even though your outdoor sign is made with an appropriate outdoor wood, it does not mean it will not weather, wear and break down over time. The sun destroys ALL! For this reason, we apply several coats of outdoor acrylic polyurethane finish to help preserve and slow this weathering process.  However, it will require a little periodic maintenance by you to keep it looking it’s best! We recommend cleaning it at least every other year (remove cob webs, dust, sand or any other residue) and apply a fresh coat of polyurethane either by brush or spray. By doing this, you will help your sign last many more years to come! Don’t be shy to ask us what product we used, we’ll be happy to tell you!

Can you carve ANY design?

Our ego would like to think so, but there are some limitations  to what the machine and bits can do. Some designs have multiple layers and super fine detail that can make carving in wood difficult. Having said that, we won’t know until we try, so don’t be shy to message us with your design or logo to know for sure! If you have a vectorized  file version such as .dxf or .ai of your logo, this will help us in the designing process by leaps and bounds! If you do not know what that is, contact the company that designed your logo and they may have a version for you to send.

How big of a sign can you make?

We use a 4′ x 4′ CNC, meaning we can cut sections up to 4′ long at a time. Ideally we would like to cut within those parameters, but there are ways to work around that depending on your design.

How do I hang my sign?

When it comes to hanging your DIY cutouts, there are a couple of ways you can accomplish this. You can use a durable two sided tape and simply stick it on the wall! Do your best to choose an appropriate poundage weight for your two sided tape based on your cutout, as it is available in a range of weights. Or you can use small finishing nails and place your script cut out accordingly.

When it comes to hanging your outdoor sign, it all depends on where you are going to display it. If you want it to hang with chains from a wooden post or metal frame, you will need hardware.  Chains, hooks, eyelets, etc. can all be purchased at your local hardware store, or we can provide the hardware for you at an added cost. Saw tooth hangers can also be installed on the backside of your sign, but please use the proper length of screw as to not screw through the sign especially if your sign is dimensional. As well we recommend using stainless steel hardware so that it does not rust.

Do you offer discounts on multiple orders?

Yes we do!

We offer a  5% discount on orders of 5 or more and a 10% discount on each game board when ordering 10 or more.

With our DIY cutouts, we can offer wholesale pricing on multiple orders, but that will depend on the size of the order.

Can you ship your products?

Yes we sure can! However; every shipping quote is different, so please let us know your postal code or zipcode so we can properly quote you a price.

How long does it take to receive my order?

Please remember, we take great pride in making your custom piece perfect, and perfection takes time.
